After it was explained, I thought it was strange that they had invented a term to categorize me. That said, every time “ABC” was mention, it was done light-heartedly so I didn’t take offense. In Chinese it is not possible to count the quantity of something simply by using a bare number, followed immediately by a noun. Rather, Chinese nouns all behave like the English nouns ‘paper’, ‘water’ and ‘dynamite’.

Abc’s That Are Truely Fluent In Chinese? Do They Exist?
